UPDATE:

Shelby County and Memphis term limit measures pass !!!

In a mature and modern democracy, term limits is a necessary part of the checks and balances of the system.

Term limits is also a component of a comprehensive anti-corruption umbrella that includes open meeting laws, open record laws, transparency efforts, full disclosures of campaign contributions, and strong rules governing ethical conduct in public office (i.e. limit on gifts, avoidance of conflict of interest, public disclosures, etc.)

We encourage the voters of Memphis and Shelby County to approve the individuals measures to limit politicians to the 2 x 4's (2 terms, 4 years per term).

If after eight years, a politico can't get it done. It's time to move on.
